About Ryan
Ryan Higgins is a 29-year-old attorney focusing primarily on transactions and regulations in the healthcare sector. A healthcare and business expert, Ryan recently completed a term as Vice Chairman of the Chicago Bar Association's Medical-Legal Relations Committee.
Ryan is a graduate of Dartmouth College, where he majored in Government and minored in Genetics, Cell and Developmental Biology. While an undergraduate, Ryan also served as a staff assistant to now-retired U.S. Senator Peter G. Fitzgerald.
Ryan earned his law degree from the Duke University School of Law, where he was elected Chairman of the Duke Law Republicans, Vice President of the Duke Law Chapter of the Federalist Society, President of the Duke Health Law Society, and editor-in-chief of a law review.
In June 2008, Ryan was a delegate to the Illinois Republican State Convention and a candidate for Republican National Committeeman. He delivered a speech at the Convention and was featured in the Illinois Review in an article entitled "IL GOP's Future." In February 2010, Ryan won the Republican nomination for Illinois State Representative for the 56th District with over 70% of the vote.
A lifelong resident of the Northwest Suburbs, Ryan grew up in Schaumburg (Colony Lake Dr.) and Palatine (Bishop Ct.), where he attended St. Theresa Catholic School and William Fremd High School. He has a large extended family with over 30 members in Schaumburg, Palatine, Hoffman Estates, Rolling Meadows, Elk Grove Village, and surrounding communities.
Ryan lives in Schaumburg (Plum Grove Rd.) and is Precinct Captain of Schaumburg Township Precinct 64.
